Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands on which Sydney University Press is located, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, and we pay our respect to the knowledge embedded forever within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country.

Sydney University Press is committed to embedding culturally competent practices in our work. We are mindful of Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property and seek to ensure that our commissioning, editorial and promotional processes are ethical, respectful and culturally appropriate. This is an ongoing project, informed by consultation and collaboration with authors, communities, industry and University colleagues, and other stakeholders.

As part of the University of Sydney Library, we are also guided by the Library’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Protocols, which were adopted in 2021.
